![]() Allison’s dataset (less than 888 MB) and the second one will be significantly larger. The first data set will be smaller than Dr. Let’s take a look at two different sized data sets in order to test this out. I can’t imagine the vast majority of students, academics, or business analysts having to read in, subset, and analyze datasets anywhere near this size, but it would be nice to see what the actual limitations of SAS UE are just in case it’s necessary. Allison, founder of, states in his article “Free SAS!” that he easily read in and did statistical analysis on an 888 MB dataset, which had 414,000 cases and 674 variables. I haven’t been able to find much information about what this limitation is, but I did find some preliminary tests run by other SAS users. ![]() ![]() After doing some reading about the capabilities and possible limitations of SAS UE, the topic that keeps popping up is a possible dataset size limitation/processing capability problem. Since my most recent statistical programming course utilized SAS, I decided to give SAS University Edition (SAS UE) a shot. ![]()
